How the Scrapstore Works
Rescue
We collect clean, safe and reusable materials donated by individuals and local organisations.
Rummage
Browse an ever-changing mix of familiar supplies, useful offcuts and unusual creative finds.
Reuse
Take materials home for art, crafts, teaching, displays, experiments, play and practical projects.
What You Might Find
There is no fixed catalogue because donations and collections change from week to week. A visit might uncover:
- Fabric scraps and larger pieces
- Paper, card and packaging
- Yarn, wool and threads
- Buttons, beads, ribbons and trims
- Tubes, pots, containers and boxes
- Foam, felt, plastics and craft materials
- Display materials and useful offcuts
- Unusual odds and ends for imaginative projects
Part of the fun is finding something unexpected and wondering what it could become.

Different areas use different pricing so that materials remain affordable and easy to browse:
Fabric Scraps
Fill a bag for £1.
Paper & Card
Fill a tub to the marked line for £1, £2, £3 or £4.
Other Materials
Everything else is individually priced.
Who Is the Scrapstore For?
Everyone is welcome. Our materials are used by crafters, artists, families, students, teachers, childminders, schools, nurseries, community groups and makers of every experience level.
You do not need a finished idea before visiting. Sometimes the best projects begin with a curious object and the question, “What could I turn this into?”
Schools & Community Groups
Changing Scrapstore stock can provide affordable inspiration for classroom crafts, display boards, junk modelling, textiles, STEM activities, seasonal projects, workshops, costumes, props and set dressing.
If you need bulk materials or want to discuss a group visit, please contact us before travelling.
Donate Reusable Creative Materials
Small donations of clean, safe and reusable materials are welcome during our opening hours. We can often accept fabric, yarn, paper, card, haberdashery, beads, buttons, ribbons and other supplies suitable for creative reuse.
For larger donations, please contact us in advance so we can check that we have enough space. We cannot accept items that are unsafe, dirty, damp, broken or unsuitable for reuse.
